Focus 2040 competition

FOCUS 2040
IMAGINING THE FUTURE OF BUSINESS – A NATIONAL COMPETITION

Focus 2040 is a competition jointly organized by The Strategic Capability Network (SCNetwork), a national association of senior HR executives and practitioners and McMaster University’s DeGroote School Of Business, a leading Canadian business faculty.

The aim is to pool student ideas about what the workplace might look like and what changes we can expect by the time they are the senor leaders – in the year 2040. SCNetwork’s page and video explaining the competition are here.

I was honored to be invited to present my “Better Leadership: Simplify Success with 5 Skills You Already Have” talk to the students, professors and HR professionals assembled for the 2010 finals of the competition on March 23, 2010. My slides for the brief overview are here.

The competition, which awarded internships here and in Europe to the top student presenters, focuses on bridging the gap between learning and application, showcasing student talent and bringing out-of-the-box solutions to business, we are proud to announce the first ever national competition –
