Job Coaching/Job Searching Core Principles
25 Toughest Job Interview Questions – remember when reading the answers that you have to tailor your responses to your own style (using the five principles – positive, honest, strategic, skill-building and balanced). Some of the suggestions are pretty good, but quite generic. You can read each question out loud to yourself (or have a friend do it) and then answer yourself… out loud – that’s the key to practice. Hear yourself saying the words. Can you do it briefly and positively? Are you happy with the answer? If you can get really comfortable with at least a few of these, the rest will follow the same pattern. The two toughest are ‘why do you want to work here’ and ‘why did you leave your last employer?’ As the author points out ‘tell me about yourself’ is often the opener and where people fall flat by talking too much. If I could only practice 3 these would be the ones.
