Great post.  The issue of the balanced message, along with the important role leaders play in setting the tone, is critical.  Interestingly, I found myself thinking about the recent strike at York University, and what &quot;might have been&quot;, if the public conversation was more proactive... and balanced.

I would also note that each stakeholder - your employees, the public, your customers, and even your management team - expects leaders to... lead.  When their is a vacuum of leadership, sometimes it is really just a vacuum of communication.
